The Junior Intermediate Girls T-Bouts Challenge will consist of 8 singles players who will compete in a 14 week rotation. This means you will play each player twice. Your match dates that you are to play by are listed for you along with your opponent and must be completed by that date, although if you want to schedule a match earlier than the posted date, you can do so with the acceptance of your opponent. You opponent does not have to accept until the day of play if she does not want to..
The T-Bouts format is for the purposes of improvement through competitive matches. It is intended to be a springboard for those who want to meet more people and be able to play more tennis at the same time improving their skills in a friendly manner. Comfirmation of matches is important when scheduling matches. Remember, you are required to have played the match scheduled on time each week. This makes sure that each person gets posted a match each week and that no stragglers slow the group down from being finished on time. "LATE MATCHES ARE NOT ALLOWED." If and when you receive e-mail or a phone call, please respond promptly.
We will be awarding a first place prize of a Large Embroidered Towel with T-Bouts Junior Intermediate Singles Winner on it. Second Price, your racket strung, and third prize, a new grip for your racket.
To keep things moving along, five extra points will be given to a player each time they play a match on time or before time. This means, if you default a match you will lose these extra points and will drop significantly in the standing. To see your schedule, find your name tab at the bottom of the page and click on it. There you will find who and when you should play each match. To find e-mails and phone numbers just mouse over the number next to your name on any page. That is the comment field and will show you both e-mail and phone numbers. Everyone, please verify that your information is correct and send me corrections. If your picture is not on your individual page, please send me one of you as well.
Remember, you may play ahead if any of your opponents agree to play you early. Remember, all you have to do is e-mail or call and set up the match with your opponent. The winner is responsible for reporting the score. You can find the link to "report a score" on any page on the website, just click on "report score" Also, when you go to a match, both players should take a new can of balls. Open one can. At the end of the match the winner will take the unopened can and the loser will take the balls that were played with in the match. Matches will be the best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring.
To e-mail someone directly from the web site you must be on the scoresheet page. From there, all the names are linked to the appropriate e-mail address, so all you have to do is click on your opponents name and an e-mail box will pop-up with T-Bouts Junior Intermediate Singles Girls Challenge in the subject line.
Players are expected to play their match by the rules of fair play. "No coaching" from any one". Your development as a player requires you to figure out how best to play your opponent.
If I can be of help to anyone, please contact me by e-mail or phone. Have a great experience.
Sincerely, John Atkinson
